Goodbye Tanzania – Hello Uganda
After a very nice stay in Kigoma, we negotiated some pretty terrible Tanzanian roads, infested with trucks, to get to the Rwandan border, only to be denied entry. Rwanda is closed to tourists except through its international airport (Covid).
Undeterred, (plans are supposed to be changed) we reversed course and side-stepped Rwanda, heading directly to Uganda. Some people asked ‘Are you mad? Don’t you know it’s the election?’, but we have not seen any trouble at all. The only inconvenience was that the Government turned the internet off; can you imagine?
After a brief stop in Masaka to get moneyed and SIMed up, we headed for southwest Uganda. We can only compare it to a green Switzerland. Truly beautiful with amazing views.

We loved Uganda , remember we went to the school to open the dormitory and my mums staffroom. That was at Ibulanku. Loved jinja , the source of the Nile!

I enjoyed the ride with you and good to see you found your Chameleon. (Flap-necked). Elsewhere in the area you will find the wonderful Rwenzori three horned (Rhinoceros) Chameleon.
I see you have found Acadia in Bunyoni as a venue for afternoon tea..
Pineapple season too. Try the Bananas. Enjoy.
Careful with the rain in the mountains but have a great time in the Pearl of Africa.
Hi Fred, Yes we want to find a three horned chameleon. Arcadia Cottages were splendid. And we are fully stocked with pineapples, bananas, passion fruit and avos. Having a healthy time of it!! Dave
