Big Bertha Arrives in Namibia

Having waved ‘au revoir’ to Big Bertha on the dockside at Sheerness Port on a blustery July day, we have just been very happily reunited 34 days later in a hot and sunny Walvis Bay, Namibia. BB was shipped here on the Glovis Summit, a so-called RoRo (roll on roll off) vessel. The ship called in at a number of African ports on the way, giving ample opportunity for petty pilfering, for which these ports are famous, but luckily the only problem we had was a minor dent on the rear of BB’s cabin.

Our import agent pointed us in the direction of a local body shop that immediately repaired and repainted the fibreglass damage for a very reasonable price. Having fuelled up, watered up, gassed up and been shopping (fooded up?), we are now ready to start our Namibian adventure.

Wish us luck!!
