Merry Christmas!

We both wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We shall be spending our Christmas day at the Kansanshi hotel in the northern Zambian mining town of Solwezi. Our hosts, David and Veroncia, have made us feel very welcome and have very kindly let us park Big Bertha in their car park for the duration.

We are very much looking forward to our Christmas dinner at the hotel, before moving on towards the capital, Lusaka, for the New Years celebrations.

Thanks for your Christmas Greetings and her was me thinking that you would be back to the UK for Christmas. But it sounds like you are still having a great time in Africa.
Did I tell you that Evan from Taiwan was over visiting Phyllis, Don and I in October. We also met up with Falicia and Ian MacFarlane and family. I think you will remember them in Taiwan. Ian is from Glasgow and Falicia, who is a beautiful dancer is from Malaysia.
Have a great day. Best Wishes from Betty.

Our Man in Harare! Hi Diogo, hope you are settling in and enjoying Zim. We will definitely come to visit you, but it will be later in 2020. From here our intended route is Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Malawi, Moz and then Zim. Put a beer in the fridge now, and it will be cool enough for when we arrive! Best Wishes David and Francine.

Hi Dave and Francine, Happy Christmas to you both and glad to hear that things are going well still. We’ve been doing our usual ‘drive round the country’ to see the family (but obviously not the number of miles that you two are clocking up)…..
All the best for the rest of the trip and hope you have a great 2020,

      Gerry and Jen

Dear Gerry and Jen, Nice to hear from you. We’ve been very stationary over Christmas / New Year – parked up in a hotel in Solwezi, a mining town in northern Zambia. We’ll make tracks in the new year towards Lusaka, from where we fly home in February for M&D’s diamond wedding anniversary. Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year, Dave and Francine. Great to hear about your intrepid travels. I was in Norfolk for the Christmas break which, of course, was also extremely intrepid! (Mud) My sister worked in Ndola for 6 years back in the early 70s, and is very interested to hear about your trip.

All the best for 2020 and have a safe and prosperous year of adventures.

Enjoy reading your blog and respect to the great pictures and videos (some look like done by the team of David Attenborough !!!) – and as Francine says – it is amazing!
