Leaving Foz do Iguaçu and the falls behind, we head north towards the vast Brazilian Pantanal. It’s a long journey to Bonito, our destination. But before we set off, we visit the Parque das Aves and have a very enjoyable morning in the bird park.
The trip north is quite monotonous, farm after farm, silo after silo.
Just before reaching Bonito, we visit South America’s biggest sink hole along with its resident macaws.
Bonito is a nice town and we camp there a few days to recover from our long journey. We took one of the snorkel tours to the regions ultra-clear rivers, that are teaming with fish. No photos, but this picture is what it is like.
Like reading your reports but they are very brief and could be more informative! For instance how long was the drive? What are the roads like? What’s the weather like? What did you like best that day, or enjoy/not enjoy?
Apologies if it is your intention to be brief! 😉
The colours of the birds, amazing!
Well worth the drive, I’m sure.
That must be the best place in the world to snorkel, so clear.
