Wrestling in a Bowler Hat!
Francine told me she wanted to see the Fighting Cholitas – a group of female wrestlers that perform in El Alto (just above La Paz). Unfortunately, Francine caught a bug and did not feel like going. Given they only perform twice a week, Dave decided to go and report back.
What a laugh! You either love or hate wrestling. It was more of a pantomime with the ‘fighters’ riling the crowd (60% tourists / 40% locals) into a frenzy and then executing highly choregraphed moves designed to look impressive, but injure no-one.
An hour was enough to get the idea, but it was very entertaining!

Hoping the narration/recounting of the wrestling scenes was sufficiently uplifting to banish away not only the blues of missing a highly anticipated event but the bug responsible for this disappointment leaving Francine {and Dave} in robust health and cheer commensurate with our good and warm wishes for the best always.
