Happy Birthday Big Bertha!
Big Bertha, our expedition truck, has travelled a whopping 250,000km!!
BB left the MAN factory in Germany on 13 February 2012 before travelling to Bocklet in Koblenz, Germany, to have the body fitted. This took around a year and BB’s first owners, The Overlanding Family, registered BB in the UK on 21 February 2013 and covered 199,608km before handing BB over to us to continue her journey. We have covered 50,392km since.
It is fitting that BB celebrated this milestone on our most adventurous trip yet – a visit to Kaokoland in northwest Nambia, a very remote and sparsely populated area of Africa. More on that in another blog post.
BB is a well-travelled truck – here is a map of countries that she has visited (the blue ones) with us and her previous owners.

Congratulations! We loved following the Overlanding Family adventures & look forward to seeing many more of yours! Namibia and Oman roadtrips were also what inspired us to put in our own truck order (in progress…)
